Microsoft has released Windows Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 to the public.[1] Some of the new features include:
- IE 8 Standards mode enabled by default,[2] Microsoft has released the Internet Explorer 8 Readiness Toolkit to help web developers prepare for this and other things that could effect backward compatibility.
- WebSlices and Activities.[3]
- Redesigned Favorites Bar.
- Safety Filter
- Full-page zoom now reflows the text to remove the appearance of horizontal scrollbars on zooming.[4]
- Tools that allow HTML, CSS and JavaScript debugging directly from the browser.[5]
- Automatic Crash Recovery.[6]
